I’ve watched this sky everyday
Hoping it’ll show me these colours
Once again
This confluence of aquamarine and baby pink
That merge almost effortlessly
Yet stay apart, distinctly.
I watch this sky today
And miss you every moment of every waking day
I long to sit by you
Pour out my heart
Watch as you listen
And lift me up
Like the sky that bears
The gentle pink clouds.
I will watch this sky everyday
And with all my soul, pray
That the Universe will bring you back
And let us be together
Inseparable, come what may.

Thank you, Tulika 🙂
That was beautiful. Love that analogy – pink and blue and love how you put it together.
So glad to hear that. Thank you, Ramya

I think it connects us with who we really are, unaffected and untouched by the trials of life. We have much to be thankful for. Thanks Mithila 🙂
Wow.. Shailaja.. Your poetry speaks volumes…..
I wonder why scenic beauty in nature often is the set for a heart wrenchingly beautiful poem. Maybe it’s like nature has the solution to each of our problems?
A beautiful poem, Shailaja. ❤
I love how each day the sky looks distinctly beautiful, right?
Thanks, Lata 🙂
Sigh. I know what you mean. It gets harder each time they leave too. But, bright side, you’re with him now and I couldn’t be happier for you 🙂
Beautiful poem of longing. As for skies, they are a different story altogether. I love them.
I get the same feeling when I sit by the seashore. As if I’m missing something or someone 🙂
Beautiful poem!
It’s positively uplifting 🙂 I love the evening walks too. Something about the sky that instantly lifts my mood.
Oh yes, sky watching. I love it too. I love the myriad hues we experience and that way we are so lucky to be living in Bangalore. I take evening walks and the sky really enchants. 🙂
Thank you, Shilpa ☺
Woww! So beautiful!
I love watching Nature! It’s a balm to the soul, it really is 🙂 It’s very inspiring too in the way it helps me write and put thoughts down. We don’t really need too much, do we?
Thanks for reading 🙂
Loved the analogy of the blue skies meeting the pink clouds feel as if two people just met.
I love looking for colours in the sky and relating them to the shades that were when special moments of my life happened.
Beautifully written 🙂
